Womens Voices: HER (Healing, Exploring, Reimagining) Spaces

About Womens Voices

We are a not-for-profit community interest company based in the Longsight area of Manchester.  We support BAMER women experiencing isolation and loneliness. We offer support to women from a wide range of circumstances, including women seeking asylum, older women, women in crisis and women experiencing domestic abuse. Our aim is to help these women achieve empowerment, equality and inclusion in Manchester.  Women’s Voices engages women from BAMER groups who do not usually access mainstream services due to language barriers, low confidence, and/or mental health issues. Many of the women have little support networks because they face numerous intersecting levels of discrimination that affect their confidence.
The 3 spaces will create different environments where women come together to participate in various activities including arts and crafts, dancing, cooking and creative writing.  The women will have an opportunity to explore and debate a wide range of issues and to share their personal journeys and experiences.  The project will also raise awareness about the impact of racism on marginalised communities.
