Global Arts Manchester (GAM) promotes and develops the diverse practice, understanding and appreciation of visual art from a global perspective among all the communities of Manchester. GAM centers the leadership of Black women of African heritage, as a critical and urgent power shift—and focuses on serving artists and audiences from culturally diverse and economically challenged backgrounds.

Our space is nonjudgmental, patient, nourishing—a place to grow as artists; and to develop the skills to bring magical, creative experiences into our communities. This project will strengthen our capacity to use the art making process for reflection on how current systems oppress us, and how we can challenge and change these systems.
