From philanthropy to… what?
We are inviting you (people we have funded over the past 4 years, i.e. our partners) to take part in shaping what GM SC will become without Lankelly Chase or its funding.
Over the past few months, GM SC has separated further from Lankelly Chase and we have begun governing ourselves as a team of ‘temporary stewards’. Our next phase includes listening to all our partners i.e. you!
In these Forums, we will gather your ideas on what you want GM SC to be without Lankelly Chase or its money.
We hope this collective dreaming will lead us to the next phase of Greater Manchester Systems Changers.
Who are these forums for?
We would like each partner to attend one Forum and bring a staff member, volunteer or community member with them. Please be sure to only bring key people who have been involved with GM SC before. We expect people to attend for the full day (10am-4:30pm), if it’s going to be difficult for you, please get in touch to see how we can support your full attendance.
What to expect at the GM SC Forums:
In these Forums we will have guided break-out spaces led by the ‘temporary stewards’ where we will:
- Gather the collective needs and priorities of our communities
- Review GM SC’s structure
- Dream together what GM SC’s future will look like
- Explore how you could be a part of this new GM SC
We want this to be a supportive space for everyone. There will be regular breaks and exercises to – hopefully – keep us grounded (e.g. breathing exercises, check ins). A hot lunch will be provided. We will also have a space for you to network and engage with each other afterwards.
Accessibility:
We want you to be part of the full day. So please do let us know about anything we can do to support you in attending the full day (in terms of childcare, interpreters, etc).
Please let us know if you can attend and your dietary requirements, allergies and access needs by filling out this form if you haven’t done so already: https://forms.gle/Wvc8xkUNg84f28XBA
After the Forums
where we will have gathered all the ideas and feedback from you, please let us know if you would like to participate alongside the ‘temporary stewards’ who will do some collective sense-making based on the themes and patterns emerging in the sessions. We aim to come back to all the partners in the New Year to share the findings.
