Decisions that needs to be made by the 1st of September

Dear members,

At the July Members’ Meeting (you can read the minutes here), we agreed that we need a clear and collective way to make decisions as a network remotely.
Many topics were discussed, and to make it more manageable, the voting will be split into 5 parts:

  • A. How do we make decisions
  • B. Which decisions are delegated to whom
  • C. How do we self-organise in circles
  • D. How do we meet and structure our meeting
  • E. What does it mean to be a member

Some ideas in the minutes also still need to be developed. Feel free to start working on them to submit them for decision-making.

To vote on the proposals below, we recommend you use a computer rather than a phone.

Then, please vote below by registering with your name and the name of your organisation ([First name] on behalf of [Name of the organisation]).

There is one vote per organisation. You’ll be able to vote and add arguments in favour or against each proposal. For open-ended proposals, you will be able to add other ideas to the vote. All your answers will be visible to all members.

The Transition Team will recontact all members who haven’t voted in 2 weeks to ensure everyone takes part, and we remain available if you need help to understand or respond to any of the points below. Drop-ins will also be held on the 11th, 12, 13th, 18th and 26th of August for members who might need help to go through this page. (Get in touch to re-receive the time and links for them)

The Members' Meeting recommends members attend at least 2 meetings per year (online or in-person).

E2. Participation in circles or groups

The Members' Meeting recommends that once working groups and circles have been set up, each member must be actively part of at least one working group.

E3. Sharing contact details with each other

The Members' Meeting recommends that each member must be contactable by other members via either WhatsApp or email (their choice). For this, they will provide one or two contacts to be added to the WhatsApp Group or a shared Google Group (email list), which will be visible to all members.

E4. Staying informed about GM SC

The Members' Meeting recommends that the Transition Team will hold drop-ins after each Members’ Meeting to update anyone who couldn’t attend. They will also share the minutes and decisions log on the GM SC website. And it is each member’s responsibility to stay in touch and catch up on what they missed.

E5. Writing blog posts

The Members' Meeting recommends that all members can write blog posts to provide updates about GM SC working groups to be shared on the website.

Next steps

Thank you for taking the time to vote on these proposals.

There are also a number of ideas and suggestions discussed at the last Members’ Meeting that still need to be developed before the network can vote on them (see minutes).  Any member (or group of members) can take them forward and develop them into proposals for future agreement.

If any of them (or others not already on the list) spark your interest or align with your work, feel free to write a proposal and share it with the rest of the network.

If needed, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with the Transition Team, as we can help shape your ideas into something ready to present to the network.
